My purpose is to help children and families obtain social/emotional, developmental and physical skills needed for success in the many roles of childhood. Children are sons and daughters, siblings, friends, students, athletes, community members... Each one is unique and each one is special.
I graduated from Keuka College with a Bachelor's of Science in Occupational Therapy with minors in psychology and sociology in 1994. I completed my fieldwork placements at Robert Packer Behavioral Science Center, Broome Developmental Center and John's Hopkins Hospital.
I returned to school and graduated with a Master's in Arts in Occupational Therapy at New York University, specializing in pediatrics in 2000.
I have worked in a variety of settings including: outpatient clinics, Birth to Three programs, private school for children with special needs, school districts and as a contractor through Rutger's University. I served many years as a Clinical OT Supervisor for Newark Therapy Services. I taught an undergraduate course in psychosocial skills at UMDNJ.
I am certified in Therapeutic Listening. I have completed training in How Does your Engine Run?, Handwriting Without Tears, Learning Without Tears, Loops and Groups, Mindfulness for Anxiety and Depression, and Sensory Integration and NDT. I have attended AOTA National Conferences in Seattle, Chicago, and New Orleans.
I am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, AOTA. I am accredited by the NBCOT and am licensed through the State of New Jersey.
I'm a wife, mother, daughter and sister. I have a son in college and a daughter in high school. I have lived in Summit since 2009 and have been actively involved in the community. I have served: on the PTO board at LCJSMS, PTO board Brayton, class parent at Brayton, directed musicals at Brayton, Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, Youth Volunteer at CPC, Boy Scout Troop 67 volunteer, President of the Summit Boys Volleyball Club, Speech and Debate judge and volunteer...
